THE ART OF THANKSGIVING IN THAILAND
Celebrating Thanksgiving has such a long tradition in the New Apostolic Church; and also in our small congregation in Chiang Mai. Altar-decorations on that special first Sunday in October have become a work of expressing thanksgiving in a very creative way. Thanksgiving is a thing of expression and congregations, big and small are given much room to decorate their Sunday Altars in a special thanksgiving fashion as it depicts congregation culture. Naturally therefore it is also a matter of color. However the produce from earth, fruit and vegetables are still the basic items of a Thanksgiving Altar.
After all, Thanksgiving is in its original meaning about the harvest and thus our daily bread. A thankful congregation is a happy congregation.
