“THAILAND MOURNS”
ERWIN SANTSCHI
12th July 1933 – 2nd May 2020
The Newapostolic Church of Thailand mourns the passing away of its Priest of many years, ERWIN SANTSCHI in Chiang Mai on 2nd May 2020.
Born in Bern/Switzerland on 12th July 1933 he moved with his wife Hanny to Thailand in 1988 and ever since served the NAC Mission. As ordained Priest he was particularly dedicated to soul care and also assumed responsibilities as Teacher of bible and catechism.
His living testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ touched many a heart. Loved by all, he had a particular interest in the spiritual development of the Youth and was for many a highly respected mentor. As District Rector he was a valuable support to the Apostolate and Church leadership. His linguistic capacity, theological knowledge and gift of literature were not just a hobby of his but an asset in church programs and activities.
His quiet nature and resolved council made him an outstanding leader even after retirement from active ministry and pastoral duty. He came to where and when needed. A true servant of the Lord for the souls. No one can forget him, he will continue to live in everyones heart.
His wife Hanny who he married 1955 gifted him with a daughter and 3 Sons. To their joy the family grew and grandchildren and great grandchildren found a place in their heart.
The couples physical strength deteriorated visibly but with the help of the Chiang Mai congregation they managed to live in their home where on 2nd May 2020 the Almighty God redeemed him from suffering and peacefully he closed his eyes forever in the fullest awareness of God’s Love and Grace.
“Farewell Erwin, we are one in the communion with Christ and shall meet again”
