Apostle Fred Wolf visits “Isan” the North-East of Thailand
From November 17 up to 21, 2011 Apostle Fred Wolf visited some provinces in the north-east of Thailand. Altogether the route was over 2500 km. Because our congregations in the North East are very scattered and relatively small, frequent visits are difficult to achieve. Nevertheless, various congregations in the districts Chaiyapum, Roi Et, Yasothon and Udon could be visited and several soul care visits could be performed as well.
The social environment in those areas naturally also affects our congregations; the younger generation is increasingly leaving their villages to work in the cities. It is a fact that also the social problems among the younger generation increases, which obviously also has an impact on our congregations. These problems cannot only be explained by material poverty; what in the Western World is referred to as “the spirit of this time”, unfortunately does not stop even here in Asia.
