Food For Eternal Life

Date: 25.03.2020 | News

Starting Wednesday, March 25, 2020, while there are no divine services in the congregations, District Apostle Edy Isnugroho decided to share the words in the Divine Service Guide (DSG) as material for reflection with the families in our homes.

Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
John 6:26-27

Message:
Jesus grants eternal life to those who believe in Him.

Through the feeding of the five thousand with five loaves and two fishes, Jesus demonstrated that He had been sent by His Father and equipped with authority. However, the people did not understand the significance of this miracle. Some of them simply saw Jesus as the one who had come to liberate them from the yoke of the Romans.

Jesus Christ did not come in order to provide help that is of limited duration, but rather to liberate us from evil and lead us into fellowship with God. Jesus admonishes us to focus on our eternal future.

In order to attain it, one must believe in Jesus, that is, in His incarnation, His sacrifice, His resurrection, and His return. We must accept the fact that we need a Redeemer, believe in the gospel, and deny oneself in order to live in Christ.
